The Kick-off meeting conference of SEA- PLASTIC- EDU project of ERASMUS+


The South East Asia-Europe Network for building training and education capacities in Plastic Recycling in Laos and Vietnam with emphasis on quality, safety and resource efficiency, called SEA-PLASTIC-EDU project, is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

The project main partners includes: University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (Austria), Technical University Dresden (Germany), Aalborg University (Denmark), Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City / IUH and Hanoi University of Science (Vietnam), National University of Laos/ NOUL (Laos) and associated industrial partner.

The Kick-off meeting conference was held successfully on 23rd May,2018 at Hanoi University of Science.  Mr. Thomas Schuller Gotzburg (Ambassador of the Austrian Embassy to Vietnam), Katja Majbom Goodhew (Representative of Denmark Embassy to Vietnam) and Assoc Prf.Dr Nguyen Hoang Hai ( Vice Director of Vietnam National University Hanoi) have been present on this event.

The overarching aim of the project is to:

  • support Universities in Vietnam and Laos to modernise and improve the higher education of engineers and technicians by establishing an education concept for plastic recycling and waste management
  • improve the employability and the entrepreneurial spirit of graduates and staff
  • connect the academic world and the industry in the area of waste management

Two training centre will be established at IUH for Vietnam and NOUL for Laos.
